  • I think UAW leaders are incompetent, short sighted and not capable of making intelligent decisions. They are singularly focused on high wages and benefits, all else be damned, even the very survival of the companies they work for.

  • So basically, money is being shifted from the taxpayer, via the bailout, to people who chose to work for companies that go out of business because they had to pay high union wages? I need to get a job with a union so I can get my free ride instead of being an average taxpayer.

  • Agreed, the bail out money should be used for freeing up credit to good companies that can pay it back. This sounds more like a hand out . I think there should be criteria for who gets the $, not having enough criteria is what got us into this mess.

  • Shame on BOA for giving in. So this is where the bailout money goes? I had hoped for better decisions from the people in power to make a difference. Instead, bailout money goes to the squeaky wheel, not the wheel that will get you further down the road.

  • Glad to have your perspective. I get paid for all those things, still don't make anything near $70. You never said, what is your hourly rate? Curious, would you prefer your current wages and job insecurity or lower wages and more job security.

  • Per a reply above from Scott, his dad was/is a UAW worker. Not sure how old he is, but I didn't think he was a kid when I first read his posts. As I stop and pause, what do you say to a kid in his position...
